Homework

The intent of a homework assignment is to deepen the understanding of the issues in an upcoming session or to explore as an individual an important topic that cramped class time won’t allow as a group.

Homework varies from day session to day session: sometimes a solo activity like reading is required, at other times a group activity like making a site visit to a non-profit organization and interviewing key people is assigned.

For example, homework may be:
Go experience art
—a gallery, a concert, a ballet, etc.

Or it may be:
Schedule a police ride-along
before the next class session.

It is not unusual for homework assignments to require 2 hours of your time between day sessions.
